What is in Your Heart? Christianity and Self-Examination - By A.S.K.Preacher
62Your Feelings
The HEART is unknowable. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it? This is a statement more than a question. This verse tells us we can barely know our own heart. How can we know someone else's?
The Bible tells us who CAN know our hearts. 1 Corinthians 2:10-11 It is the Spirit of God in man that can know man's heart.
It is the Spirit of God, or HOLY SPIRIT, that reveals our hearts to us. 1 Corinthians 2:10
Not everyone you think is guilty, is GUILTY as you think. 1 Timothy 5:24
Some hearts are easy to see OUTWARDLY. Hebrews 6:8
Some evil will NOT be seen until the judgement. Matthew 7:22-23
PURGE your hearts and CLEANSE your minds. James 4:8 * 2 Timothy 2:20-22
Pick your POISON and find a verse that COUNTERACTS that weight. Ephesians 5:25-27
If you are not checking your heart then one of 3 things are probably happening.
1) You are going around LOOKING to catch some Christian in a sin you are sure they are involved in, you are not being Christian. You have become the Sanhedrin! We are supposed to be helping those who are WEAKER in faith. You are the one suffering --- from pride. It will catch up with you.
2) You are OVERLOOKING the sins of those nearest to you. Belief becomes a pecking order of cliques whose support for each other outweighs the truth of the Bible. Outward appearances become more important and the hearts and minds of the group suffer.
3) Being a Christian has become a routine for you and not a way of life. Check what you are feeling in your heart. Pay attention to what your mind is dwelling on. Confess that sin, repent of it, and ask for forgiveness for it. If you are truly repentant then you will take the word and use the sword to battle the devil, against the next attack concerning that particular sin.
Finally, the eating of the bread and drinking of the juice we do in remembrance of Him. True communion is the taking in of His word and applying those words to our lives. This is trusting and believing and becoming Him. John 6:48-63 Especially John 6:63 Reading and applying His words to your understanding and to your heart. is EATING His flesh and drinking His blood. Proverbs 2:2 * 4:4 * 15:14 * 20:5
When we seek Him through His word and prayer He can and will help us. This is the cleansing power of His blood.
Get your Bible out and check the scripture I have used. I am no better than the worst. PreacherLoading...
